The contract is formed upon our order confirmation by email, sent automatically following successful payment.

For pre-orders placed before the publication date, your payment method is charged only on the shipping date.

§3 Prices and shipping costs

All prices are final and include the applicable VAT (7% on books per §12 (2) UStG; 19% on shipping services). Shipping within Germany is free. Shipping schedule:

For deliveries outside the EU, customs duties or import VAT may apply at the recipient’s location and are borne by the recipient.

Shipping is by DHL as book parcel. You will receive a tracking number by email on the shipping date. Should a book be unavailable, we will inform you immediately and refund the full purchase price.

§6 Right of withdrawal for consumers

Withdrawal instructions

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier indicated by you, took possession of the goods.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Whitesides GmbH, Keithstraße 2-4, 10787 Berlin, email: rights@whitesides-publishing.com) by an unambiguous statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, or an email) of your decision to withdraw from this contract. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse all payments received from you, including delivery costs (with the exception of supplementary costs arising from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event no later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw.

For such reimbursement, we will use the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or until you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earlier.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us, without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of fourteen days has expired. You will bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You will be liable for any diminished value of the goods only resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

§10 Dispute resolution

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. We are not willing or obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as the protection granted by mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which the consumer has their habitual residence is not thereby withdrawn.
